HPB: Volume 23 (Issue 1 to Issue 12)
HPB, an internationally recognized journal, serves as a platform for clinical, scientific, and educational communication in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.
This journal, with a monthly publication frequency, offers twelve issues each year that encompass a wide range of content. Readers can find leading articles, expert reviews, original research papers, clinical images, editorials, and reader correspondence, covering all aspects of benign and malignant hepatobiliary diseases and their management. HPB also includes content related to clinical and translational research and practice.
The journal is particularly focused on hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) diseases encountered by clinical practitioners worldwide, especially those specializing in gastrointestinal surgery. HPB addresses the challenges associated with managing cancer affecting the liver, biliary system, and pancreas. Surgical oncology constitutes a significant portion of HPB practice, but the journal also welcomes submissions related to liver and pancreas transplantation, the treatment of benign conditions like acute and chronic pancreatitis, and topics related to hepatobiliary infections and inflammations. A multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment is emphasized, with endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, radiological interventions, and surgical techniques all being strongly represented. HPB encourages submissions in these areas and in scientifically focused research that holds clinical relevance for HPB surgical practice.
The journal’s primary goal is to facilitate the professional development of its readers, which includes surgeons, physicians, radiologists, and basic scientists involved in the management of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, as well as those in related fields.
HPB is abstracted and indexed in prominent databases, including MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed, Science Citation Index Expanded, and Academic Search (EBSCO).
HPB is owned by the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA) and is the official journal of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA), the Asian-Pacific Hepato Pancreatic Biliary Association (A-PHPBA), and the European-African Hepato-Pancreatic Biliary Association (E-AHPBA).
