HPB: Volume 24 (Issue 1 to Issue 12)
HPB is a prestigious international journal serving as a platform for clinical, scientific, and educational communication. It is published twelve times a year and provides readers with a wealth of content, including leading articles, expert reviews, original research papers, images, editorials, and reader correspondence, all covering a wide spectrum of benign and malignant hepatobiliary diseases and their management. HPB takes a comprehensive approach, featuring relevant aspects of clinical and translational research and practice.
The journal focuses on various areas of interest related to hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases encountered by clinical practitioners worldwide, particularly those in the field of gastrointestinal surgery. It addresses the complexities of managing cancers affecting the liver, biliary system, and pancreas. While surgical oncology is a significant aspect of HPB practice, the journal also welcomes manuscript submissions related to liver and pancreas transplantation, the treatment of benign conditions such as acute and chronic pancreatitis, and topics concerning hepatobiliary infection and inflammation. A core emphasis is placed on developing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment, with strong representation of endoscopic and laparoscopic approaches, radiological interventions, and surgical techniques. Manuscripts in these areas, as well as scientific research with clear clinical relevance to HPB surgical practice, are encouraged.
HPB aims to support its diverse readership, which includes surgeons, physicians, radiologists, and basic scientists, in expanding their knowledge and enhancing their practice. The journal is not only of interest to specialists involved in hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease management but also informs professionals in related fields.
HPB is widely recognized and indexed in prestigious databases, including MEDLINE®, EMBASE, PubMed, Science Citation Index Expanded, and Academic Search (EBSCO).
Furthermore, HPB is owned by the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA) and holds the distinction of being the official Journal of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA), the Asian-Pacific Hepato Pancreatic Biliary Association (A-PHPBA), and the European-African Hepato-Pancreatic Biliary Association (E-AHPBA).
